Woe To Them

“Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.” (Micah 2:1)

It isn’t so much that evil was thought of. It isn’t even the fact that evil was done. It’s the tipping point, the opportunity where the weight of this message rest upon.

Some folks don’t sin simply because they don’t have opportunity to do so. But when the power is in their hand, they seize upon that opportunity and “practice it”.

We must examine our self, question our self. What would I do if given the opportunity?

We must never put our self in the position of opportunity to sin. But if that gate of sin is wide open, we must know not to proceed through. Some will, because “it is in the power of their hand”.

Some won’t, even though, “it is in the power of their hand”.

God will test and prove us. God will reveal us to our self.

One last thought. Sin expands. Walking through the open gate of sin just leads to broader areas and wider gates of sin.

“For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at” (Matthew 7:13).

Once sin is seized upon and the threshold crossed, “nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Genesis 11:6).

Do not sin simply “because it is in the power of their hand”. The power of sin quickly outgrows its possessor and will consume him.
