There Is No Tomorrow
“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when
it is past, and as a watch in the night” (Psalm 90:4).
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one
day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2
Peter 3:8).
This is God expressing time in human terms to help us get a
handle on the concept of from everlasting to everlasting. This is one of those
times we are not to take the Bible literally.
God is always present. God is always in the present. Time is
always now. Understanding and accepting this should put more weight and
emphasis on the following: “… now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day
of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
One of the great lines from the movie “Rocky III” is when
Apollo Creed tells Rocky Balboa, “There is no tomorrow”. He was right. There is
only the here and now. Now is the time to do something about your salvation.
