Doing and Being
The difference between “doing” and “being”. There are entire
religions built upon the doing. These religions even predicate salvation on “doing”
good things. But these religions fail to realize that the devil himself can “do”
even the most righteous acts, but still have hell in his heart.
We must be holy, not just act or “do” holy. And when we are
holy we cannot sin, for the sins of the holy, the child of God, the regenerated
soul are forgiven. Our nature, our character or in a true biblical sense our “conversation”,
will produce holy acts and deeds. Holiness will also produce the desire for
holiness in all facets of our life.
Jesus Christ died on the cross for the redemption and salvation
of the holy. I know, this sounds confusing. But Christ did not die for those
who are not His. He died on the cross to save His children because we in our
mortal form are unable to save our self from the devil and sin. If we could,
then there would have been no need for the crucifixion of Christ. And if Christ
had died for the unregenerated as well, then no one would ever go to Hell, and
we know this not to be true.
Doing is a by-product of who we are. It should be a
manifestation of the spirit.
