Land of the Living

"I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living."

(Psalm 116:9)

To “walk before the Lord” is presence and active participation. It is being of God in the sight of man. The unregenerate soul can’t see our Lord, but He can see you, the very image and likeness of God. If there is hope for that soul, it will be through you, as an extension of God.

“…in the land of the living”, those regenerated souls that are active, alive, and reviving.

“He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living.” (Mark 12:27a)

God and the living are the hope of every soul.

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13)

We are to be that hope.
