My Soul, Wait

“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 62:5-6)

It is not always easy to “wait” upon God, to sit still and “not be moved”, especially during times of turmoil. The nature of an agitated state motivates us to “move”. But waiting on the Lord is mandatory for our salvation.

The only time we move away from God is when we have something else to move to. If so, then God is not our only rock nor our sole (soul) expectation.
