Who Hath Reconciled Us

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21)

“All things are of God”, so stop thinking in terms of division, or “us versus them”. Stop battling the devil when It’s all of God. Realize that Satan really, really wants you to fight him. Stop it. Restore and reconcile, don’t jump into the devil’s fight.

God has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. We have been restored to our divine, pre-fall state and made acceptable to Him through Christ.

We are not imputing sin onto self or onto others. Why should we? We’ve been forgiven. The price for sin has been paid.

God has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We, in the spirit of holiness and righteousness are committed to the restoration of the saints, not the condemnation of the sinners.

The sins of the saints are forgiven. We are to help restore them back to the family. But there is a sinner, who isn’t a saint and never will be. We don’t know the saints from the sinners so we act in the spirit of reconciliation and restoration to all. That’s what Jesus did.

Jesus became sin then faced God and paid the price for of all that sin. He did this for everyone even though Jesus knew who the saints and sinners were before the foundation of the world. Even with this foreknowledge, Christ ventured out into the world, spreading the good news to all, offering salvation to all. That’s what we are to do as ambassadors for Christ. Jesus didn’t condemn the saints, he reconciled them.

The Cambridge Dictionary defines ambassador as, “an official who represents his or her own country in a foreign country”. There couldn’t be a more accurate description of our role as an “ambassadors for Christ”. We are strangers in a strange land. Working our way back home. We represent the King and His Kingdom, in search of fellow citizens of the land divine.

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19)

The saints, the citizens of the Kingdom of God are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. As such, we are representatives of our Lord here on earth. God gave us a ministry of reconciliation. We are to restore the saints, not condemn them. This can only be done through Christ. All things are of God. Stop acting as if we are in a battle with the devil. That’s what he wants you to think. The devil lost at the cross.

Speak the word. Be the word, and through us Jesus will restore those that are His.
