God’s Will
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that
we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us
unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good
pleasure of his will” (Ephesians 1:3-5)
All of it. Every single aspect of it. All of the spiritual
blessings, election, the holiness, sinlessness, God’s love residing in us, and
finally, God’s chosen being predestined before the foundation of the world for
the adoption by Jesus Christ. All of these things are according to one thing.
God’s will.
God, “worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”
(Ephesians 1:11) and he who does God’s will, “abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:17b)
Man is usually too involved with his own self to notice or
even understand that God’s will is going to be done, “in earth, as it is in
heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10)
We were made in the image of God. Our default being, nature,
and essence is that of God. God is the way we naturally and originally are to
be. What is alien to man is sin and unrighteousness.
Sometimes people try to
excuse their sin by saying, “Well, that’s just the way I am.”
No, that’s how you are since the fall of man. It’s a
deviation and perversion of how God made you. The way you are naturally is
supernatural. Man’s default state of being is holy and righteous.
Examine the human body. It wasn’t built for sin but rather
for righteousness. The human body deteriorates and dies in sin but flourishes
and thrives in God’s will and righteousness.
God’s will, will be done. To refuse it, is rebellion, which
is a sin. It’s also guaranteed death.
God’s will, will be done. To accept Him and His will is
life, love, peace and joy eternal.
In either case, God’s will, will be done.
