Raised High and Uplifted

“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” (Isaiah 57:15)

Look at the contrast and the magnificence of this verse. God, is raised high and uplifted above all and occupies eternity. Man can conceive of “up” and “above”, but it’s simply incomprehensible to even imagine inhabiting eternity. How does that happen? How does that even work? But God does it, He “inhabiteth eternity”. Even in such an exalted, impossible to understand, dimensional warping, space-time continuum, God is still with the lowly, the broken and the humbled. God is there for that oppressed and depressed spirit. God is there for the guilty, remorseful and penitent heart. High, holy, and righteous yet dwelling with all. There is no separation between God and spirit.

God revives. He brings us back to Him. We, by our will and initiative chose to leave God. We failed. It was inevitable. God knew all of this before we ever left Him. Even still, God is always there to revive, He is always there to bring us back to Him.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35, 38-39).

There is no time or place without God. It simply doesn’t exist, it never has, and it never will. There is no obstacle too big or daunting for God, be it physical or spiritual, natural, or supernatural.

Nothing can get between you and God.
