He Is Our End
Jesus did not lead us to the Father. It was the Father that
called and drew His chosen children to Himself. God called and His children
responded. They responded because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God
called His children out of His love for them.
“Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore
with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3b)
“therefore with lovingkindness”. The driving force behind
lovingkindness is mercy. Mercy because God loves us. This kindness must be of a
divine nature so as to counter the cruelty of this world.
Good is a process, an action. Perfection is an end, the
completion of that good. A good life is one spent of righteousness, of which
only a Godly love can be derived from. Perfection is achieved in the presence
of God.
Being Godly is our life, our action, our good. God is our
completion. He is our end.
