Unleashed Beast

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)

“every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually”. That is the “natural” state of man since the fall. Evil is his default position.

Scary isn’t it? 

No morals. No justice. No right, for all of those things come from God. In Freudian terms, man is pure Id. The Id is man’s lust unleashed and unfettered. Self-gratification of all impulses and desires is the only goal and purpose of the Id. That is the state, the condition and essence of man after the fall, without God.

Again, scary isn’t it?

So the next time you are wondering what God has done for you, humanity or mankind in general, think of the unleashed beast that we are without Him.
