The God of Mercy and Comfort

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

God is the Father of Jesus and the Father of all mercies and comfort. God comforted Paul during his difficulties, which enabled and empowered Paul to comfort the Corinthians during their difficulties.

We need to be like Paul during this time of Hurricane Florence.

Please understand. God’s grace is never meant to be held, but rather given. Never forget, while you seek the mercy and comfort of God, it is our responsibility as children of God to be that very same mercy and comfort to others. We are to help lead others to the source of that mercy and comfort-God! We are to lead by example.

On several occasions, Paul told the Corinthians, “Be ye followers (imitators) of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Stop crying. Start praising. Be the child of God and let the grace of our Lord fall all around you.

Yes, we are our brother’s keeper.
